SEA HWA: 2025 was a busy year!

It's almost impossible to narrow down so many images to include from so many events. And let's face it, accurate captioning of this montage ain't gonna happen. But let's have a gander at all the events we did this year (this list is in no meaningful order and hardly exhaustive). We are getting things done up in here!

  • Crypticon: tabling, paneling, open mic, and the Crypticon anthology contest

  • Opening and extended lease for Haunted Burrow Books, plus many readings and a Halloween party

  • Launch of the monthly Seattle Horror Book Club

  • PNWA conference with Margaret Atwood as keynote and, later, a PNWA/HWA workshop collaboration

  • The Seasons of Horror quarterly readings at Kirkland Arts Center hosted by our very own Bonesley Bookworm

  • WorldCon, HorrorCon, StokerCon, Norwescon

  • Where Are All the Boogey Ladies? traveling panel

  • Seattle Arts & Lectures tabling

  • Collaboration with the Hallow Ian Horror Hour season 3 production

  • Washington State Horror Authors collection completion at the Seattle Public Library

  • Haunted Farmer's Market, Church Cantina Night Market, Macabre Market

  • Feathered Pages mobile bookstore launch

  • Halloween X-Spo

  • New books released by more members than pictured here! Plus, so many author projects, Substacks, blogs, signings, appearances, book launches, and other endeavors

Never mind that the real world has become an endless horror story...

Our year of horror writing, publishing, bookselling, and celebrating dark stories, poems, films, and other narratives killed it this year!
