The Hallow Ian Horror Hour is hosting a Season Three live viewing party at the Grand Cinema (606 Fawcett Ave). This local supporter of HWA writers will feature work from some of our members in this year's season of shows. Episodes will also stream Fridays from October 10 to November 14, in case you miss the opening live show.

Join members at the HWA table at the Church Cantina (5240 S Tacoma Way) where information will be handed out and local horror author books sold before an appreciative crowd. ✨WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 8, 2025, 6 to 8pm Rain Shadows author and HWA member Tamara Kaye Sellman will be a featured reader at the PoetryBridge weekly literary event in West Seattle at C&P Coffee (5612 California Ave SW). Artisan's Books & Coffee in Everett (1802 Hewitt Ave) is hosting a book fair and horror writers paneling event where several HWA members will gather to celebrate and sell their scary books. Event coincides with the Everett Art Walk.

✨SATURDAY OCTOBER 18, 2025, 6 to 7pm
So many good horror books are made into movies, but does the fear factor translate well? Page Turner Books in Kent (215 1st ave S.) invites horror readers, fans and cinephiles to join this lively discussion, among HWA and horror book club members, contrasting and comparing films and their adapted works, to determine (once and for all?) "Was the Book Better, Though?"

If you're going to the Halloween X-Spo in Spokane, make sure you visit HWA member Craig Craig Hurd-McKenney at Hall B/C in the Spokane Convention Center (334 W Spokane Falls Blvd) where he'll be tabling and paneling on horror writing topics.

✨THURSDAY OCTOBER 23, 2025, 630 to 830pm
HWA member Luciano Marano will lead a conversation with Rain Shadows authors Clay Vermulm and Tamara Kaye Sellman at Eagle Harbor Books in Bainbridge Island (157 Winslow Way E). Topics include the inspiration behind the collection and the unique process behind their pod-to-pub book, plus insights into the next season of the podcast, Beneath the Rain Shadow.

HorrorCon is back and the HWA will have a table there with members selling and signing books and sharing information about its Seattle Chapter at this popular and highly attended regional event featuring Elvira, exhibits, vendors, artists, panels, film presentations, and more.

HWA member and author Mark McClain signs books and reads from his Passages of Peculiarity at Kingfisher Bookstore (16 Front St NW Ste in Coupeville) from 1 to 4pm. Located on beautiful Whidbey Island. Easy to reach and well worth the trip!

Previous HWA co-chair Josef Wilke will read from his latest work at the Food and Drink and Ghosts Part II: A Spooky Adult Storytime event at the Brier Library/Sno-Isle Library system (23303 Brier Rd). Registration required, but free and open to the public. Preceded by Food and Drink and Ghosts Part I: A Spooky Adult Storytime from 4-6pm.

✨TUESDAY OCTOBER 28, 2025, 730 to 9pm
Local horror author Neena Viel (Listen to Your Sister) will lead a conversation on regional horror and going from podcast to publication with Rain Shadows authors Clay Vermulm and Tamara Kaye Sellman at the Central Branch of the Seattle Public Library (1000 Fourth Ave).

✨FRIDAY OCTOBER 31, 2025, 6pm to ? That's right, we're going to OWN Halloween this year over at Haunted Burrow Books (Capitol Hill, 430 15th Ave E) where HWA member and store owner Roxanne Guiney has invited all the "Halloween people" to dress up and descend upon Seattle's favorite haunted bookseller at her first ever Halloween Bash and Costume Contest!
